Here at Pure Hemp Botanicals, we like to think of our customer’s wellness as their empire. There are so many different factors to a person’s overall wellness and each of them are a different part of the empire. Mental, physical and emotional well being. There’s so much to be aware of and nowadays with the fast pace of the world, it seems hard to keep up with taking care of ourselves. As the seasons change and the days get shorter people often find it even harder to keep themselves above water and effectively take care of their “empire.” Here are some ways I’ve found over the years that really do help me to take care of myself better during the fall and coming winter months.

  1. Go Outside: Now that it’s fall I usually wait for the afternoon to go outside whereas in the summer I enjoy morning walks. Even as it gets chillier making sure that once a day I spend at least 20-30 minutes outside hugely helps me. Breathing in the fresh air and taking in what sun I can get leaves me feeling refreshed and lighter.

2. Exercise: This one is incredibly important. It’s easy to go into hibernation mode because my normal work-out times are dark which doesn’t make me feel very motivated. But getting up and moving at any time of the day helps me feel accomplished and strong. When my body feels strong it often helps my mind feel strong as well.

3. Find a Hobby: I live in Colorado and like many Coloradans and others around the world, most of my hobbies are outdoor-related. This means that when it begins to get colder it feels like I don’t have anything to look forward to doing. In the last couple of years, I’ve found creative indoor outlets that I can do. My current favorite is crocheting but I also love to cook.

4. Eat HEALTHY: This is huge for me. It’s so easy to want to bake and eat warm comfort food all winter but making sure I have a well-balanced diet is imperative for me to feel strong and healthy.

What are some ways you use to combat the winter blues? We would love to hear them and add them to the list!
