Here is a little bit of history on how World Kindness Day became internationally recognized as a real holiday. World Kindness Day is celebrated annually on November 13th devoted to the positive potential of acts of kindness on a small to large scale to bring people of every kind together for common good. 

World Kindness Day began as a movement in 1998 and formed into an international holiday as institutions from various countries pledged to join together to build a kinder and more compassionate world.

This holiday is not affiliated with any religion or political movement, and over 28 nations participate in this holiday. Some countries that celebrate World Kindness Day are Australia, Thailand, United States, United Kingdom, India, Italy, Canada, and more.
