Homebound for the weekend? Plan a staycation!

No doubt, my favorite way to recharge my batteries is a seaside vacation. Traveling to a beach destination is far-fetched right now. However, my spirit needs some rest and rejuvenation, and I am determined to make it happen with a mini staycation this weekend. 

You don’t need to go far to relax and unplug. You can create a wonderful staycation at home. Unplug, unwind, and don’t even think about the to-do list. This is your time to sleep in, get a massage, order takeout, go for a hike, see a movie, or do whatever calls to you.

To kick off your mini staycation, you should take a few steps to set the tone of your surroundings. Before you unplug, take some time to clean up your environment to eliminate clutter and distractions. The goal is to create the most relaxing environment for yourself.

How to transform your house into a five-star hotel for your weekend staycation.

  • Cancel any appointments and book out your weekend for you time.
  • Move any piles out of sight for the weekend. 
  • Clean up the kitchen and main living rooms you want to relax in.
  • Stock the fridge with some cold beverages. 
  • Get some fresh fruit and chocolate to snack on.
  • Set out fresh towels and robes.
  • Pull out the scented candles. 
  • Put on fresh bedsheets.
  • Close the curtains and keep your house quiet and cool.
  • Silence your cell phone.

When you get through the cleaning and preparations for your staycation, it’s time to unwind! Keep things calm and enjoyable with relaxing soundtracks and unplug from your electronics, unless it is for pure entertainment.

Making your mini staycation feel like a real getaway!

1. Go out to eat at a great restaurant near you or order takeout. A staycation means you leave the cooking and cleaning to someone else. Try eating something new. 

2. For an outdoor adventure, look up a hiking trail or beautiful place to explore nearby. 

3. Sleep in! Don’t pressure yourself to wake up early, have your coffee in bed, or do whatever makes you happy. 

4. Go to a museum, art gallery, or theater. Find some culture in your area or something new to experience on your staycation.

5. Schedule a spa treatment. My favorite gift to myself is a massage.

6. Watch a new movie or, even better, a travel show that takes you to a beautiful destination virtually!

7. Make a special staycation cocktail or indulge in a delicious dessert.

8. Apply a face mask, take some Pure Balance CBD and take a bath with some essential oils. You will feel so relaxed and fresh.

9. Go on a shopping spree locally or online in the comfort of your home. Treat yourself to some comfy loungewear, an exciting book, a lovely scented candle, some CBD body care.

10.Have a picnic. Pack up your favorite snacks and find a lovely outdoor setting to relax and snack with your friends or family.
