What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol and is a non-intoxicating component of the cannabis plant that contains significant benefits.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis and hemp plant. Of the non-psychoactive cannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known.

Is CBD legal in my State?

States have their own laws and regulations regarding Hemp / CBD. We recommend that you check your state laws prior to purchasing.

Can CBD products be used with my prescription medications?

CBD or Hemp is a natural plant-based supplement. You should always consult with a medical professional before making any purchases. Discontinue use if you notice side effects.

Can I fail a drug test with the use of PHB Products?

Our products are manufactured using hemp extract, defined by the Colorado Department of Agriculture as “a plant of the genus Cannabis and any part of the plant, whether growing or not, containing a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol(THC) concentration of no more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) on a dry weight basis.

In simple terms, all our products may contain up to 0.3% THC. The THC amount in mg will vary depending on product suggested dosage, therefore, there is a possibility that consumption of the product could possibly trigger a positive test. Many drug screens tests for THC, which is the psychoactive compound of cannabis. If you have any concerns, please consult with a medical professional prior to purchasing our products.

Can CBD products be used with my prescription medications?

CBD or Hemp is a natural plant-based supplement that does not generally have adverse reactions to prescription drugs. You should always consult with your healthcare physician before making any medical decisions.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription or medical marijuana card to purchase your products?

No, our products are classified as hemp, so you are not required to have a prescription or medical marijuana card to purchase at this time.

What is CBD distillate and isolate?

Distillate is a full spectrum, highly refined extracted oil that can be refined further. Full spectrum means that the product can contain both THC and CBD.

CBD Isolate is the most highly refined and purified form of cannabidiol. Isolate is typically white in a crystal or grainy crystal form.

Hemp and Marijuana are not created equal.

There’s a lot of confusion on the difference between hemp and marijuana since the plants look identical. Though they are both varieties of cannabis, they are not the same. Hemp belongs to the species Cannabis sativa L and it contains 0.3% or less of the psychoactive compound delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). In contrast, marijuana plants contain 5% to 20% of THC. Another difference is that hemp plants usually contain significantly more cannabidiol (CBD).

You cannot get high from smoking or consuming hemp.

Hemp does not contain enough THC to produce any psychoactive effects. Our full spectrum hemp products contain up to 0.3% THC. There is a possibility that trace amounts of THC could make a THC naive or sensitive individual feel some THC effects. If you smoked hemp, you wouldn’t get a buzz.

Buying hemp products is not legal in all 50 states in the U.S.

Some states have banned certain types of hemp products, while other states have banned hemp growth and products completely. Check your state regulations before considering a purchase. Even though cannabis and hemp are two different plants, the federal government considers all cannabis plants a Schedule 1 Substance. However, the 2014 Farm Bill and the 2018 Farm Bill allows the cultivation and sale of hemp containing less than 0.3%THC, which includes hemp oil made from industrial hemp and our Pure Hemp Botanicals products. The FDA’s recent approval of a product containing CBD shows strong support for the future of hemp products in the United States.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is found in hemp

Hemp contains at least 85 chemicals called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are a class of diverse chemical compounds that act on cannabinoid receptors in cells that repress neurotransmitter release in the brain. Cannabidiol is one of those chemicals. It is an active ingredient in our hemp extract and many other hemp health products.

Hemp can be used to make more than 25,000 different kinds of environmentally friendly products from health foods and beauty products to paper supplies and even building materials.

In 1938, the magazine Popular Mechanics called hemp the “New Billion Dollar Crop” because researchers had discovered that hemp could be used to manufactory over 25,000 different kinds of products “from cellophane to dynamite.” With our technological advances today we are constantly discovering even more ways to use this incredibly versatile plant.

Consuming hemp can be great for your health.

Hemp seeds and hemp oil contain magnesium, iron, and vitamin E along with the healthy fats omega-3 and omega-6. (If you want the full skinny on hemp nutritional value, check it out on Self Nutrition Data). Hemp is also a complete protein which makes it a great plant-based protein source for vegans and vegetarians. Many people enjoy eating hemp seeds in salads, yogurt, cereals, granola and smoothies. Though hemp oil should not be used for high-heat cooking, it can be used in the kitchen too. (It makes a great salad dressing!) You can also find delicious substitute dairy products made from hemp and hemp protein powders.

Clinical and scientific researchers have discovered that the herbal extract CBD is useful for a healthful body and sense of well-being.

Hemp has been used therapeutically for thousands of years, but the scientific community has only begun to extensively research it over the last few decades. Through their research, they have learned that CBD is one of the compounds in hemp responsible for its optimal whole-body benefits. CBD is thought to have noticeable balanced mood and occasional soreness support without the psychoactive effect (high) of THC.

Hemp farming and production are great for the environment.

There are few crops that are as environmentally friendly as hemp. According to Canada’s Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food, hemp matures in just 3 to 4 months and absorbs carbon dioxide 5 times more efficiently than trees. Unlike cotton which requires lots of water and heavy use of chemical fertilizers and toxic pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides; hemp can be grown organically without the use of chemicals or toxins and without the need for excessive water. It is also great for the environment because it returns nitrogen and nutrients to soil. Hemp’s long roots actually aerate soil and can help to prevent both soil erosion and mudslides. Another benefit for farmers is that it can thrive in almost any climate and any type of soil. It is no wonder that the L.A. Times’ tip to American farmers is to grow hemp. Pure Hemp Botanicals cares about our environment. We support regenerative farming practices through safe agricultural practices and never use harmful pesticides or herbicides.

How do I know how much to take or which strength to buy?

There is not a standard dosage amount for CBD products. Everyone metabolizes CBD differently, so we recommend that you start out low and adjust accordingly.

Please refer to this chart to help give you an idea of what concentration you may need. If you’d like to speak with us regarding your unique situation, please contact our Customer Service Team at [email protected] / 1-844-443-6764. Please keep in mind that our customer service representatives are not medical professionals.

What are your extraction methods?

We use Non-GMO ethanol to extract our Colorado Grown Hemp. We also utilize post-processing methods such as winterization and distillation.

How do I know how much CBD I am getting in my products?

We clearly define all our products by the amount of CBD in the total product. For example, 300mg Tincture contains 300mg of CBD total.

Are your products THC Free?

PHB products are manufactures with industrial hemp. All PHB products contain less than .3% THC on a dry weight basis, consistent with the definition of industrial hemp under section 7606 of the Farm Bill Act of 2014 and the 2018 Farm Bill.

Our products are manufactured using hemp extract, defined by the Colorado Department of Agriculture as “a plant of the genus Cannabis and any part of the plant, whether growing or not, containing a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of no more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) on a dry weight basis.” In simple terms, all our products may contain up to 0.3% THC. The THC amount in milligrams will vary depending on product suggested dosage.

How can I see the Lab Results for the product that I own?

We provide a Certificates of Analysis (CoA), the lab results, for all our products and upload them for everyone to see.

Each product will have its own identifying batch number which is used to pull up the lab results for the specified item. You can also view lab results by typing in keywords such as “tincture” or “vape”.

If you can’t locate a specific CoA, please reach out to our Customer Service team at [email protected] or 1-844-443-6764.

You can view them here:

What is different about this new CoA format?

It is important to have a comprehensive CoA that includes all the analyses which may be performed on any of our products. The previous CoA format only showed cannabinoid content. The new and improved CoA format shows not only potency, but many other testing results which are indicative of product quality. We have one of the most comprehensive CoA’s in the CBD market and are happy to share all testing results for EVERY batch with our consumers.

Why do some of the analyses say “S.L.” on my CoA?

S.L. means “Skip Lot”. For that analysis, it means that analysis was not scheduled for qualification testing or identified by our skip lot protocol for testing. You will ALWAYS see CBD potency and THC potency on the CoA, along with all physical characteristics. If you would like to see the breakdown of other cannabinoids present besides CBD and THC, please see page 2 of the CoA, which is the previous CoA format.

What does “third party tested” really mean?

Third party testing is a common term used to communicate that external laboratories are utilized to provide independent test results. This offers a level of assurance that testing results are not biased. Additionally, when third party laboratories are used, many companies can compare testing results to further develop testing methods for their products. For industries which are in their infancy, like the CBD industry, this is important to establish reliable testing methods, and also to verify product quality. PHB uses ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratories to report results on every CoA.

Are any pesticides used on the plant matter used to manufacture the products?

We never use harmful pesticides such as Glyphosate (Roundup). Glyphosate is a general broadleaf killer, and since hemp is a broadleaf plant, use of that pesticide would kill an entire crop.

How can I see what ingredients are used in the products?

To view the ingredients used in our products, please click on the desired product’s detail page and view the “Product Description” and “Additional Information” section. They are also directly displayed on the product label.

What is the difference between a softgel and a capsule?

Soft gels are fully enclosed gel caps that are smoothly contoured and easy to swallow. The capsules are a vegetarian two-part capsule pressed together.

How should I store my products?

To maximize the shelf life of your product please store in a cool, dry place. You can also store our products at room temperature or chilled in the refrigerator.

Can I refill my cartridge once the oil has been used up?

We do not recommend refilling the cartridges because we cannot guarantee compatibility with the product you choose to refill it with.

Can I use my own battery with the PHB vape cartridges?

Our cartridges are compatible with most 510 threaded batteries, although we cannot guarantee effective compatibility. We recommend using one of our batteries because heat settings can vary.

Is the vape oil inside the cartridges made with distillate or isolate?

We use a combination of both distillate and isolate for our vape cartridges.

What are Glycols used in the vape cartridges?

Palm-based Propylene Glycol (PG), as well as Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) is used to formulate our vape cartridges.

What is a carrier fluid?

CBD is fat soluble, meaning, the cannabinoid breaks down and stores in body fat. Because of this trait, cannabinoids, are most effective when infused with an oil so the human body can absorb and metabolize it efficiently. The CBD will attach itself to the molecular compounds in the oil, at which point they can be absorbed into the body to maximize CBD content.

How do I use a vape kit?

The Vape Kit includes one battery, one USB charger, and one pre-filled cartridge. Take the rubber protective cap off the bottom of the pre-filled cartridge. Screw the cartridge onto the battery by aligning the bottom of the cartidge with the top of the 510 threading on the battery. Press the push button 5 times quickly and consecutively, to turn the battery on and off (this is indicated by blinking colored lights).

Once the device is powered on, you may choose to change heat settings by clicking that same button 3 times consecutively. There are 3 heat settings: “Low” (indicated by a green light), “Medium” (blue light), and “High” (red light).  To draw a hit from the vape, hold down the button as you inhale and then let go of the button when you stop inhaling.

To charge the battery, turn off the battery by clicking the push button 5x quickly. Ensure the cartridge is unscrewed from the battery, then screw the battery onto the USB charger and insert the charger into a USB charging port. Once the light on the USB charger turns green, the battery is full and ready for use.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are hydrocarbons that occur naturally in plants, giving them their distinct aromas. These aromatic compounds are usually divided into four categories: sweet, spicy, bitter, and sour. Cannabis strains get their distinctive and pungent smells directly from terpenes.

My coil is discolored, what does that indicate?

If you have purchased a vape cartridge or kit, you may have observed a change in the color of the oil. It is important to understand that this is a natural and expected process and should not be a cause for concern. Like all natural products, hemp oil contains ingredients that will chemically change over time. A change in color does not indicate product quality has been compromised, but rather, is a natural chemical reaction with exposure to time, heat, and light exposure. This process is called oxidation. When a vape is in storage, and each time a vape is used, it is exposed to heat and oxygen, which are the prime factors in the oxidation process. In summary, the natural darkening does not indicate the product is no longer effective. An example of vape colors with acceptable organoleptic characteristics are provided below.

Furthermore, our internal quality unit has performed organoleptic evaluation of dark colored vape cartridges, and those have passed organoleptic evaluation, meaning the scores indicate the product may be released for distribution.

There are some recommendations which may aid in minimizing this range in color variation.

First, always store vapes in cool, dry, and dark spaces.

Do not store cartridges in direct light or sunlight.

Avoid storing cartridges in heat.

The battery provided with the PHB kits has a prewarm function that can be used to gently heat the cartridge prior to vaping. This may also aid in minimizing a drastic and quick color change in the vape cartridge.

What is the difference between the Flavored Vape Juice compared to the Vape Drops and the Vape Cartridges?

Flavored Vape Juice is the vape juice solution for those who vape with mods and other vape tank devices and is compatible with higher powered batteries. The dosages are also strategically designed to connect the existing highest dosage available in the cartridges and lowest dosage available in the Vape Drops Concentrate. We were able to keep our prices lower than our competitors due to our state of the art production techniques.

Vape Cartridges, while also flavored, require the use of a 510 battery on a lower power setting.

Vape Drops Concentrate is a CBD concentrate additive for Mods and Tanks and is used with your favorite vape juice. A perfect way to add CBD to any Vape Juice.

Can we use the Flavored Vape Juice in the PHB Cartridges?

No, Pure Hemp Botanicals Vape Cartridges are not designed or intended to be refilled. Pure Hemp Botanicals Vape Juice is designed and optimized for direct filling of Mods and other vape tanks.

What is the ratio of CBD oil vs filler (terpenes, etc) in our Vape Juice?

The 500 mg Vape Juice is approximately 33 mg per milliliter (ml) in a total 15 ml bottle.

The 1,000 mg Vape Juice is approximately 66 mg per millimeter (ml) in a total 15 ml bottle.

There isn’t a big price difference between the Flavored Vape Juice & Vape Cartridges, even though the dosages are significantly different. Why is that?

Vape Cartridges have a much higher expense than the bottle used for the Flavored Vape Juice.

What is the shelf life of the Flavored Vape Juice?

The product has a 1-year shelf life.

Can you vape these product by themselves?

The vape drops are formulated to be an additive, intended for people who want to maximize the CBD benefits to their current vape liquids. You can add this product to any E-Liquid or vape juice of your choice.

Why is the bottle not full?

We utilize a 5ml bottle for both the 1,000mg and 2,000mg vape drops. Both bottles are filled at the 3.75ml level. To keep a high concentration of CBD in this additive, we do not use any additional filler solutions which would defeat the purpose of having a low volume/high strength product to add to existing vape products without impacting their characteristics.

About our softgels.

The softgels are fully enclosed gel caps that contian our CBD formula and are smoothly contoured and easy to swallow. The softgels cannot leak. The softgels are 100% vegan, from the casing to the fill.

How long does it take for the softgels to take effect?

The softgels and capsules are taken orally and with this method, it may take longer to feel the desired effects, as the CBD must travel through the digestive tract before being absorbed in the small intestine. The body has to break down the shell and then absorb the oil which usually takes 30-45 min to take effect.

What is a carrier fluid?

Pure Hemp Botanicals uses only Non-GMO carrier fluids in our tincture and softgel products.

How do you use CBD Tincture?

The most common way to consume the tincture is under the tongue. This is when oil is situated or applied under the tongue to provide a direct absorption method to the bloodstream through the mucous membranes under the tongue. This often results in quicker effects, and is also believed to have a minimal loss of CBD since it eliminates the digestive tract. You can also consume the oil orally, apply it topically, or mix it with food and beverages.

What is the difference between Isolate Tincture & Full Spectrum Tincture?

Our Isolated CBD Tincture Products are manufactured with purified isolated CBD. The isolate tincture features non-detectable levels of THC, meaning that THC compounds are not found with our instrumentation during our testing process. Our Full Spectrum tinctures contain CBD along with the permitted amount of other trace cannabinoids, balanced with the “entourage effect” for optimal efficiency. All of our full spectrum tinctures contain less than 0.3% THC.

Is there a difference between formulas for human tinctures and pet tinctures?

There is no difference in formulation for our human tinctures & our pet tinctures. The only difference between the animal and human tinctures are the labels. We use the same ingredients in both types of products. The label “Pet Tincture” is mostly used to inform our customers that the tincture can indeed be safely used for their pets.

Can you vape the tincture oil?

No, we do not recommend vaping the tincture oil. The tincture is not formulated for vaping.

What is a carrier fluid?

Pure Hemp Botanicals uses only Non-GMO carrier fluids in our tincture and softgel products.

Why are your tinctures nearly flavorless & colorless?

Our company is vegan, so anything we use, from growing the plants, to extracting the oil, to manufacturing, must fall along those guidelines. Our oil is richly refined to avoid leaving a bad aftertaste. Our tinctures are formulated with organic and refined hemp seed oil so any taste will come from these ingredients. The end product is a nearly flavorless, colorless oil for light and easy consumption.

Why is there Hemp Seed Oil in the tincture formula?

Organic hemp seed oil acts as a carrier fluid. CBD is fat soluble and needs a fat source to extract and maximize the CBD content.

What is the Crystalline Frost product?

Our Crystalline Frost product is an isolated CBD Concentrate which is a high potency extracts of the hemp plant, containing high percentages of CBD. The Frost composes of 98%+ purity. The end result is a white powder that has almost no taste or aroma, is very consistent, solvent-free and fully decarboxylated.

How do you use the product?

The Frost can be taken by itself orally or can be used in drinks, edibles, or any appropriate vaporizing device used for consuming shatter, oils, wax, or other concentrate products. You can dab it as is, or mix it with other cannabis extracts. If you’re into vapes, add CBD isolate to your vape juice or e-liquid for a CBD-infused vaping experience. You can also blend CBD isolate into your favorite foods and beverages, and because it is already decarboxylated, there is no need for further processing.

Keep in mind that this product is very potent, so you only need a small amount.

What is the difference between the 250mg, 500mg and 1 gram?

The numbers represent the amount of product that you’ll receive. For example, 500mg of Frost is half the amount of the 1 gram frost.

What other ingredients are in the frost?

The Frost is isolated CBD in its purest form possible. There is not an additional ingredient. These crystals are the result of our proprietary multi-step crystallization process to create the purest isolate available.

How do I measure the frost?

For the most accurate results, we recommend a small kitchen scale capable of weighing in milligrams.

Make sure you watch this video to learn more about how to use the Crystalline Frost! Click here: Video

How much tea comes in each container?

Each container contains 16 tea bags.

How much tea can be brewed with one individual tea bag?

Each bag will produce 1 cup – 1/2 gallon of tea when brewed according to your taste preference.

How much CBD is in the tea product?

Batches of tea will contain different amounts of CBD.  To view the lab results for your specific batch, use the batch number located at the bottom of your container and look up the results on our website.

What are some of the benefits of hemp tea?

Our hemp tea has been known to help customers with sleep deprivation and relaxation.  Hemp contains various cannabinoids such as CBD, CBDA, etc. Hemp is rich in antioxidants, is a great source of protein and delivers a rich and soothing experience. When brewing the tea, we recommend adding a fat source such as milk, cream, or honey at the beginning of each infusion to maximize your cannabinoid content.

What is “GMP”?

GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices, and is the gold standard for food, supplement, and drug manufacturing. The FDA regulates the manufacture of consumable products and requires that manufacturers follow GMP regulations. All PHB products are manufactured in an FDA registered facility. Even though hemp and hemp products have not been classified as a food or supplement by the FDA, Pure Hemp Botanicals always follows GMP regulations in the manufacturing process of all of our products.”
