Protein powders are easy and come in great-tasting flavors, but you can also get your protein from nuts, seeds, yogurt, oats, quinoa, and more. A balance of protein and healthy fats will balance out the natural fruit sugars in your breakfast smoothie. This slows the body’s absorption of sugar to prevent a blood sugar spike and energy crash.

What You Will Need:
½ frozen banana
½ cup of blueberries
¼ cup of rolled oats
1 small handful of baby spinach
⅓ cup of greek yogurt (or substitute with dairy-free yogurt)
½ cup almond milk
1 spoonful of almond butter
½ tablespoon of flaxseeds or chia seeds
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. For smoothie bowls, use less liquids for a thicker consistency and add additional fruit, nut, or granola toppings!
